Message from your Council Kernel:
Hello Scouts and Leaders,
We’re in the home stretch, and now’s the time to give it everything for our popcorn sales! let’s make
this final push count and finish strong. Here’s what you need to know to maximize sales and keep the momentum going:
Reminders for Units Using the New $570 Bundle
-
Maximize Your Commission: Any unit participating in the new $570 bundle program must sell through the app, utilize the Trails End-provided storefronts, and follow all code of conduct guidelines to receive the full commission rate. Units that do not follow this process will receive the base rate of 30%. If you are not following these rules, be prepared to pay Council the 70% due as shown on your invoice!
Inventory and Product Needs
-
Need More Product? No problem! We know units have different inventory needs, so if you’re short on popcorn or need specific varieties, reach out to the council office. There are units looking to offload extra inventory, to make sure everyone has what they need to succeed. We have some product at the office and don't mind making an even exchange with your products to get a better mix! Or you can take some from the office for your unit to sell.
Ways to Maximize Sales
-
Wagon Sales: Encourage families to rent out popcorn to take around their neighborhoods. Many families are ready and willing to support Scouting with just a knock on the door.
-
Church and Local Business Outreach: If you haven’t tried selling at your local church or nearby businesses, now’s a great time! And don’t forget, some workplaces might want to buy popcorn as holiday gifts for employees or for break rooms. This can lead to bulk sales and help clear inventory faster. Reach out to your families that have businesses!
-
Thank You Gifts for Chartering Organizations: Units can consider buying popcorn to give as a “thank you” to their chartering organization or for meeting space support.
Incentives for Wagon Sales
Offer incentives to Scouts who participate in wagon sales. Provide a printout of each Scout’s Amazon points, they can see how close they are to reaching the next prize tier. A little extra motivation can go a long way! They may be closer than they know and just need a few more sells! Look down below for some helpful hints for the gift cards!
Closing Out App Sales
-
All Sales Entered in the App: Be sure to enter every sale in the Trail’s End app by December 1 at midnight for council incentives and by December 31 for the Trails End Amazon gift card program. Each sale counts, so don’t leave any out! The sell must be timestamped by midnight (MST)!
Storefronts: Sharing is Caring!
If your unit isn’t planning to use a storefront, please release it to make sure other units have a fair chance to reserve prime selling spots. Every Scout deserves a successful sales opportunity, and a great storefront can make a big difference. Official storefronts close November 3, in the app, but you’re welcome to set up new locations independently after that date. Please keep communication open by letting other Kernels know where you’ll be through the Band app so we don't have three units showing up to the same Lowe's locations!
Take Orders
-
Take Orders Due November 11: Place your orders by noon on November 11 (or sooner)! Don’t wait until the last minute—make sure your orders are submitted to keep your unit on track.
-
No need to put in your Heros and Helpers donations this year as a take order, they are already taken out.
Big Prizes Up for Grabs!
This year’s rewards for our top sellers are truly exciting:
-
Top 5 Scouts: Win a tethered hot air balloon ride with a parent or guardian—a memorable reward for outstanding sales efforts!
-
Top 50 Scouts: Earn a trip to Dave & Buster’s for a fun celebration party!
-
I have included pictures of how to find the reward levels from Trails End.
Let’s Finish Strong!
This is our last chance to make a difference for our units and achieve our sales goals! Keep encouraging families, keep selling, and let’s bring in an incredible final weekend for popcorn sales! If you have any questions or need more ideas, reach out—we’re here to support each other. Let’s do this! 🎉
Stay tuned for more updates from me, your Council Kernel,
Commander Stephanie
